More about what we do

The Camden Abu Dis Friendship Association was officially launched in Camden at a fund-raising meal in October 2004 and then reconstituted as a charitable trust in June 2005 (our charity number is 1112717).

CADFA includes representatives from Camden Trades Council, trade union branches, organisations, groups and interested individuals across Camden. Hundreds of people have already signed our Friendship Statement - Please add your name.

We have an open meeting every month which focuses on raising awareness within Camden of human rights issues in Abu Dis. We hold public meetings, film shows and events to explain to people about life in Abu Dis.

A lot of work also goes on through our links groups which work with groups in Camden to encourage the development of twinning strands between organisations in Camden and Abu Dis, and with groups in Abu Dis to develop practical projects of various sorts.

CADFA has supported projects in ABu Dis including the renovation and development of a community centre, a women's internet cafe, an eye clinic, the internet for schools; has found volunteers for educational work in Abu Dis; has funded visits of men, women and children to Camden.

We welcome membership from people and organisations who support our aims. Download membership forms below. For further details, please contact us.
